Welcome to 2009

I wanted to take this moment, at the start of a new year, to reach out to you and to wish you a happy and fulfilling 2009. In 2008, your support enabled me to exceed my goal of getting 4,000 votes in the 182nd district, a number that would have won the election in any of the previous eight years. Regardless of the election outcome, I am proud of the base we built, the positive impression we made, and the conversations we started during the campaign.
Since the election, I have continued to work with many neighborhood organizations regarding education and safety issues and have returned to work in the private sector as a Project Manager. I plan to relaunch my website and blog soon so that we may share in the debates and ideas that impact us such as public education funding, public safety initiatives, and legislative reform.
My biggest project, though, is expanding our family. Bill and I are expecting our first child in May. We are looking forward to showing her all the wonderful places and people in the 182nd district.
I hope that your 2008 was everything you wanted it to be. There are many challenges and opportunities awaiting us in 2009 – a new Presidential Administration, a relatively new Mayoral Administration, an economy in crisis, the unrelenting demand for health care reform, and a long list of legislative initiatives that have been stalled in Harrisburg. Let’s stay in touch so that we can create the agenda and influence the choices.
                                                                         Sincerely,
